Design a distinctive brand identity and comprehensive website structure for a peer-to-peer motivational community platform that facilitates connections, resource sharing, and personal growth.
MotiM8 approached Design Hero to develop a comprehensive brand identity and website for online coaching their innovative peer-to-peer motivational community. The client needed a brand design that would reflect their mission of connecting people seeking personal growth with motivational experts and like-minded peers. Their vision was to create a space where individuals could find advice, accountability, partnerships, and inspiration to overcome life’s challenges and achieve personal growth.
We worked closely with MotiM8 to create a distinctive brand identity that communicates their positive, energetic approach to motivation, along with a structured website that facilitates community building and resource sharing. The result is a cohesive digital ecosystem that effectively connects “Motimators” with those seeking guidance, creating a supportive community focused on personal development.
For MotiM8, we created a brand identity that perfectly balances energy and approachability. The core of the brand revolves around the concept of connection and growth, which we brought to life through a distinctive logo design featuring a brain composed of intertwining loops that cleverly incorporate the letters “M” and “8” – a visual representation of the brand name.
The brand style we developed is minimalist with bright accent colors that create visual interest and guide user interaction. We selected a typography system featuring blocky yet curvy fonts that convey boldness while maintaining a friendly, approachable feel – much like the personality of the brand itself. The color palette incorporates dark greys and purples as base colors, with bright, energetic accents for interactive elements, creating a perfect balance between professionalism and optimism.
We extended the loop motif from the logo throughout all brand collateral, creating a cohesive visual language that’s instantly recognizable. This consistent design approach helps reinforce brand recognition across all touchpoints and creates a sense of unity throughout the user experience. The overall brand personality we crafted is positive, open, friendly, and optimistic – perfectly aligned with MotiM8’s mission of empowerment and growth.
The new WordPress website we designed for MotiM8 serves as the central hub for their motivational community, carefully structured to facilitate connections and provide valuable resources. The site architecture begins with an engaging landing page that clearly communicates the value proposition, encourages newsletter signups, showcases testimonials, addresses FAQs, and provides a clear path to joining the community.
We developed a comprehensive resource section that houses blogs, podcasts, events information, and learning courses – creating a knowledge hub that delivers ongoing value to the online community membership. The “Our Motimators” section features engaging profiles of the platform’s motivational experts, incorporating the circular loop motif from the brand identity to create visual consistency. Each ambassador’s bio highlights their unique background and expertise, from fitness professionals to former military personnel turned mental health advocates.
A key feature of the site is the discussion forums, organized into intuitive categories that facilitate peer-to-peer interactions. This community-building aspect of the platform is central to MotiM8’s mission, and our design ensures these spaces are inviting and easy to navigate.
Custom icon system
We developed a custom set of line icons that maintain consistent line weights, curves, and styling that align perfectly with the logo design. These icons represent key aspects of the MotiM8 offering: Events, Community, Peer-to-Peer Mentoring, Check-ins, Business Boosts, Friendship, and Partnerships. This custom icon system creates visual shorthand for users to quickly identify different sections and services while reinforcing the brand identity through consistent visual language.
Photography direction
To complete the brand experience, we conducted word association exercises to identify the perfect visual tone for MotiM8’s photography. We sourced and curated images that align with the brand values and aesthetic, creating a library of visual assets that convey motivation, connection, growth, and community. This carefully selected photography works in harmony with the other brand elements to create a cohesive and emotionally resonant user experience across all digital touchpoints.
