Leodamais is a luxury self-catering holiday house on Islay overlooking the stunning Leodamais beach in Port Ellen.
Six luxury bedroom are split over two impressive properties β The Wee House & The Big House.
Allan is the operations manager for Leodamais, and an old acquaintance from the construction industry during my days as an architect, andΒ I have since worked on several succesful projects with him.
The luxurious properties have had absolutely no expense spared in one of the most famous locations in Scotland and needed a new brand and website to reflect the dedication to quality that can be found in the house.
The level of quality on offer was in no small part due to Allan’s attention to detail:
From past experience, I knew Allan is a man who gets things done, and when he sets his mind to something, he does it to the highest quality.
So when Allan contacted me about a new brand and website for Leodamais, I knew that only the best would do.
I was tasked with investigating a new brand for the property, and develop a website to follow suit with guest information, and the capacity for online booking.
The branding for Leodamais House was designed around the unique location on Islay, and the tagline “Luxury on Islay“.
The property, split into two sub houses, were each given a logo which features the elevation of the house picked out in negative space against the bay over which they each look.
The colours were chosen carefully to reflect Islay’s natural beauty, and the landscape constructed from geometric shapes to maintain simplicity to the logo.
I chose the fonts to reflect the brand’s luxury target market and high-quality renovation of this holiday home. A traditional serif font for headers contrasts with a more modern geometric font for body text.
I created a brand guideline booklet which outlined the formula for the brand, including logos, fonts, colours and use of photography.
The brief was to design a new website from scratch on a Content Management System which could be easily managed by the end client on an ongoing basis, whilst still emphasizing the level of luxury on offer.
The site also had to integrate an online booking system with a booking calendar, and the ability to book online.
I also worked on various graphic design projects to create promotional materials for web and print
Design Hero provided design for a range of branded stationery including:
The front of the business cards used the negative space from the logo to great effect.
On the reverse, I made an unusual decision to do several versions.
various versions of the card used different colours from the brand, representing the Scottish Isles.
Standard size, premium spot UV finish with gloss highlights finish
I created branded Christmas cards with fun plays on the logo to create a winter scene.
I created promotional posters and flyers to advertise the house through print and digital mediums.
I also created adverts which were published in various online and printed magazines, newspapers and publications to promote Leodamais across a range of platforms.
I designed the ad to work online, as well as in print, specifically for the local authority on news and updates for Islay,Β “the Ileach”.
I helped Leodamais by customizing the floorplans for the holiday house, and detailing the layout for the property in a custom illustration
It has been a pleasure working with Nick on our Luxury on Islay branding and website. We are very pleased how it all looks and the process was very simple.
As always Nick guided us through with great ideas and creativity. This is our second branding project and website with Design Hero and now looking forward to the next! Keep up the good work Nick.
