I’ve known Neil for many years as a close friend, and I know he is also an incredibly talented artist.
When he announced that he would be opening his own business with his partner Megan, I was thrilled for both of them.
The new tattoo studio in Anniesland, Glasgow would focus on custom tattoos from the two resident artists.
They had redecorated and outfitted the studio and were planning an open doors day to launch the new business.
Neil got in touch to ask me to help with promotional assets for the grand opening.
The studio already had some fantastic-looking signage, and a sketch of what they wanted their logo to look like.
Neil and Megan asked me to digitalize the logo, for use in promotional marketing, and to come up with flyers and vouchers which they could use to promote the business in the local area and get their studio launch off to a flying start.
Neil and Megan are talented artists themselves, and provided me with a sketch of what they wanted their logo to look like
The logo was to match their impressive hand-painted shop signage
I created a digital version of the logo from the sketch provided.
I also created a digital version of their amazing shop signage so they could use it on printed marketing.
My approach to graphic design was to use the interior decoration of the studio as a visual hook, with lots of green leather, deep mahogany and gold trimming.
The business cards used the shop signage as an emblem for the front
The vouchers were handed out at the grand opening to encourage a first wave of bookings for the new business.
The design of the flyers was informational, as a way to raise general awareness of the studio.
We just totally trusted Nick to do a great job.
It was all a bit manic, but Nick just sorted it out for us.
The opening was amazing, we had a full house!
Megan absolutely loves them too.
